through many generations, Vietnamese women have strived continuously:l Within their families, Vietnamese women have always fulfilled their roles as mother, wife, and sister with patience, endurance, boundless love and self-sacrifice to build and maintain happiness which they understand is the basic foundation of life. In society, Vietnamese women usually lend their hands to assuage the suffering of unfortunate victims of poverty, inequality, natural calamities and wars. Abroad today, in responding to the concerns from the communist-refuged Vietnamese communities worldwide, How to preserve the thousand years of Vietnamese customs and culture so that the young Vietnamese do not forget their mother’s tongue and develop the spirit of union, the love of Vietnam and Vietnamese people? How to support and protect the Vietnamese women who are victims of human trafficking under the various forms such as labor exportation, sex slavery, and brides exportations? How to support the women and their family in Vietnam those who have encountered difficulties from government due to policies of arrest, incarceration, and torture in order to destroy their patriotism and fighting spirit to achieve freedom and democracy for Vietnam? Declaration: Considering the above concerns, we, the Vietnamese women from all over the world, solemnly declare to establish the Federation of Vietnamese Au-Co Women with the following objectives: To maintain and promote Vietnamese culture and language overseas, To contribute to the support and protection to Vietnamese women who are the victims of human trafficking under various forms such as labor exportation, sex slavery and brides exportation. To support women and their families who have encountered difficulties from government due to policies of arrest, incarceration and torture in order to destroy their patriotism and fighting spirit to achieve freedom and democracy for Vietnam To join forces with womenfolk and menfolk inside and outside of Vietnam in the struggle to bring about prosperity and democracy to Vietnam. Appeal: The Federation earnestly appeals to: All Vietnamese inside and outside of Vietnam to actively support the Federation in its struggle to maintain and promote Vietnamese cultures and language. The free world, especially the United Nations, Amnesty International, human rights and charitable organizations to support the Federation in its effort to protect and assist women who are victims of human trafficking and communist tyranny in Vietnam. All Vietnamese women to follow the examples of Trung & Trieu sisters as well as Le Thi Cong Nhan, Tran Khai Thanh Thuy, Pham Thanh Nghien, and courageously stand up to fight for women’s rights and the rights of all Vietnamese citizens.
